Beyond MiCA Licensing: Reflections from the DAAA × Accenture Member Lounge

Beyond the MiCA License: An Evening of Ideas, Leadership, and Connections at DAAA × Accenture

A license opens the door. What happens next determines the future.

On October 8, 2026, Vienna’s historic Stock Exchange Building became a meeting point for some of the leading voices in Europe’s digital-asset ecosystem.

The DAAA Member Lounge × Accenture – Oktoberfest Edition brought together professionals from finance, blockchain, compliance, and technology for an evening of insightful discussions, valuable connections, and a shared interest in the future of regulated digital assets.

With the theme “The MiCA Afterparty: Why Licensing Is Just the Beginning,” the event explored one of the industry’s most important challenges: How do we turn regulatory compliance into sustainable, trustworthy business operations?

Beyond Regulation: Building the Future of Digital Assets

The evening featured keynote contributions from Georg Harer and Sebastian Scholda, followed by an engaging panel discussion with Katrin Joschtel, Jonas Jünger, Christian Derler, Ivana Senderak, Clemens Pachta-Rayhofen, Sebastian Scholda, and Dr. Philippe Schiltknecht, moderated by Raffaela Spitzer.

The discussions examined the evolving compliance landscape and the operational realities facing both traditional financial institutions and digital-asset businesses.

For me, the event reinforced an important perspective:

Technology enables innovation. Regulation establishes boundaries. But trust, accountability, and collaboration determine whether innovation succeeds.

This perspective closely aligns with my research and professional interests, particularly where blockchain technology, institutional governance, and innovation strategy intersect.

Behind Every Great Event Is an Exceptional Team

Beyond the discussions, what made this evening particularly memorable was the people who brought it to life.

As Technical Program Manager at the Digital Asset Association Austria (DAAA), I have the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that connect researchers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.

This time, my involvement in the preparations was more limited than usual. That made me appreciate even more the extraordinary dedication of Walter Mösenbacher.

His leadership, attention to detail, and ability to bring everything together deserve special recognition. The professionalism behind a successful event is often invisible to attendees, but it makes all the difference.

My sincere appreciation also goes to Bettina Türk, Raffaela Spitzer, and the entire Accenture team for their hospitality and collaboration, as well as to every speaker, panelist, and participant who contributed to the evening.

Connecting People, Ideas, and Opportunities

What I value most about being part of DAAA is the opportunity to help build bridges between different disciplines and communities.

Meaningful innovation rarely happens in isolation. It develops when technical expertise meets institutional experience, when research meets industry practice, and when people with different perspectives come together.

The DAAA Member Lounge is a valuable example of that exchange.

I am proud to contribute to a team that makes these connections possible and supports the continued development of Austria’s blockchain and digital-asset ecosystem.

The next chapter of digital assets will not be written by technology or regulation alone. It will be shaped by the people and institutions capable of bringing them together.

And I look forward to contributing to that journey.
